I got an email late last night from a dear friend. She had captured little Birdie at a birthday party this weekend for our sweet friend Gray at Gymboree. I love these pictures so much. Thank you Candace for taking these. I will treasure them always!
Sweet, big, bright eyes, fixated on her friends who are all walking and playing. She just wants to figure out how to play like them so bad! Soon, little Birdie, soon. Her eyebrows say "Me? Can I come? Please? OHHHH that looks like so much FUN!!!!!"
Her squeals were so loud. She had never seen so many fun things to play with in one area. I will definitely have to take her back there again. ;)
We love you little Birdie. And your claps. They are so precious to us.
I was pretty sure when I met this man a few years ago, what he would be like as a father.
I knew he would be patient. I knew he would be loving. I knew he would be a leader.
I knew he was meant to be a father to girls. Just like my dad.
I didn't know he would sing every children's song at the top of his lungs, to get our little one to smile. I mean, I should have suspected... but now I see it in the flesh and I love every minute of it.
He sure does get a lot of kisses (read:open mouth attacks) from AB. The minute she went in his arms, this is what happened. Kisses. This little one loves her daddy. She gives him her own special smile when she sees him. Makes my heart so full.
What made father's day even more special was that we were able to spend it with my parents. I love my dad, and seeing him with a grandbaby makes me so happy and I'm able to see a whole different side to him.
He's so proud of his little girl. I know he's proud of me too. But this is a whole new side of him able to come out. I love it.
And I think little AB knows how much all her grandparents love her. She's one truly blessed little girl. We sit and wait in anticipation for grandbaby #2 to arrive next month (my sister's daughter!). I can NOT WAIT to have these two little girls in the same room together. What a sweet time that will be.
And then my mom. Who is radiant and so beautiful. I love when people say I look like my mom. Such a compliment.
And AB loves her BeeBee. She's clapping for her here. She loves to clap. We should all clap more. It makes you feel good. Try it.
Mom, I hope I look as good as you do when I'm your age. Which is still young. Very young.
(PS- She made this dress. I have so much to learn as a mother. Poor AB. Someday I'll make her something as special as a hand smocked dress. Prayers are needed for that one to come true)
I am so thankful for my family. For the family that brought me into this world, for the family that brought Stephen into this world, and for my own little family. Stephen and I could not be happier to be given the absolute pleasure of raising little AB. We are thankful for every day we are given with her. Such a blessing from above.
Happy Father's day to my best friend, Stephen, and to my dad and father in law... you are all such godly men and I am honored to have you in my life.
"If you're happy and you know it clap your hands.... if you're happy and you know it clap your hands.... if you're happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it, if you're happy and you know it clap your hands...."
Hey. Just checking in. I'm 9 months now.
I have 8 teeth. I say Momma and Dadda and Ball and Duck. I love the word Duck. Its a bird you know.
I can also stand really well. I try to walk and even took 4 steps the other day. I'm a bit "determined" as my mom calls me. Whatever. It just seems to be a really popular way to travel. I can't wait to master it.
I walk really well with my elephant walker. It's like. The Best. Man, I fly.
I stand at this window every morning and every afternoon. I like to try to peek at the birds. I love windows and birds.
You know? Aren't they the greatest?
Can you hear me? I'll come closer.
Whew. That was close. But I'm SAFE. My daddy says that a lot while watching baseball. SAFE. I love baseball.
You see, most mornings, I wake up and I say "SOMEONE! ANYONE! Come get me! I've been in here all night. I'm ready to watch highlights of what I missed last night with the Cubs game!"
And so they come get me, I get clean clothes and my daddy and I sit together and watch highlights.
My dad is cool like that.
HA! You just thought I was coming over. SIKE! I'm sitting right here. I'm so funny.
Ok, I'm going to read now. Have you read this book? I love it because it's old (my mommy says vintage) and it's about birds. Fav.
What is my toy doing up here? This is for books?
Here is my selection today.
Golden books are the best. But I have a really hard time not wanting to tear the pages. They're just so soft!
Well, I'm going to go read now. It's been nice catchin up with you.
PS- Doesn't my hair look strawberry blonde? It's natural. People pay good money for this color. I know.
It's been one of those months. How is it already June? I don't think I even changed the calendar at my office. It still says April. #fail.
I have so many things to blog about. Graduations, family get togethers, friends, farmers markets, walking (oh yes), teething, DIY projects, etc. But for now, I found these pics while editing a wedding and just had to share them real fast.
We're not the biggest fan of our highchair. (clarification: We love our highchair, which is from Ikea and was a bargain at $25. But Birdie doesn't love being held in one place for longer than 10 seconds) In fact, on Sunday, she went superman style off of it without me looking. That was not pretty. There is a reason for safety belts!
Mothers Day came and went and we had so much fun with Stephen's family. These were a few pics we took right after church. I just love her spirit and her sweet smile. Her laugh is contagious. I wish you could all hear it.
Her favorite thing is to go outside. So we open the windows for her to look out. It's her favorite spot in our house. Plus, who doesn't love to balance on toile curtains?
We love this little one so much. She's growing up so fast. I can't wait to update you on her attempting to walk and now 8 teeth. Yes. 8.
