To market to market...

This last weekend, I went to market with my mom, sister, best friend, and her mother. It was so much fun!

Anna, Sasha, Sister, me and Mom
We were able to shop for wedding stuff, houses and just have some fun girl time together.  We must have walked 20 miles in our cute little flats, which was great for my wedding workout.  I'm still sore.  Market is so big!

We were able to have dinner with one of our dearest friends, Linda.  She is just the most precious and classic woman I know.

Linda and my mom
We also got a surprise visit from Kerri!

Kerri and her sweet fiance Colin with sister in the middle.  Cute cute cute.

Could she be more fashionable?  Love the bag, love the shoes, love every bit of her!
I thought I would show you some fun finds from market.  I tell you what is trending right now:
1. Lanterns

2. Anything Equestrian

My sister found this horse head... message me if you want a source!
3. Vintage Garden... which I love!

Boxwoods are everywhere... the preserved kind that is a little outside of my budget!  I will be trying to preseve my own.  Wait, no, I don't have time to do that!

Lanterns and vintage garden in one pic!

We had a great time, including some spur of the moment dance parties in the artwork showroom:

And my first ever taste of cotton candy.  Yes, I'm 28 and I've never had it.  So sue me.  Honestly, I wasn't missing anything.  It had the texture of a troll doll hair.  And kind of looked like it too.

All in all... it was a delicious weekend ;)

Discover Shreveport: Our favorite Italian food

I discovered that I might be the only blogger in Shreveport.  Well, I'm sure that's not the case, but after searching and googling, I can't find anyone other than photographers.  Am I all alone in this big blog world in the south?

I decided that if I'm the only blogger here, I need to do my job.  I'll just have to report on all the fabulous things to do in this fabulous city!

I decided to start with our favorite hot spots.  Food spots that is.  We like to eat.

Ristorante Giuseppe on Line avenue
Giuseppe's is one of our favorites.  There is this great area in our neighborhood, which includes our grocery store, starbucks, a great hardware store, Tuesday Morning, and lots of other great little shops.

Chef Guiseppe

Chef Guiseppe's journey is one you normally find in much larger cities.  He started as a young boy, at the age of 13, graduating from culinary school in Sicily, attending Milan, then found himself in Zurich and then to Shreveport.  I know what you're thinking. Why Shreveport?  Why not?

This restaurant is quiet, full of locals, and serves up some of the best Italian cuisine in Shreveport.  They serve fresh made breads, pastas and fabulous desserts.  Their kitchen is open and located in the main dining room.  The kitchen is bright, clean, and very quiet.  You can watch them create your meal, if you wanted.  There are so many great items on the menu, it's hard to recommend one.

Next time I go, I want to order the Involtino Di Polo... Prosciutto and parmigiano stuffed chicken (say it like Giada now...)

This is the dessert I had last time,

but lets talk about Raviolo Di Nutella.  Fried nutella (oh ya) with strawberry gelato.  I can think of nothing more perfect.

So, definitely check out Guiseppe's if you're new to Shreveport.  Because, if you're not new, you already have this place on your favorites list ;)

My baby Draper...

I am the proud new owner of my very own Dorthy Draper Dresser!!!!!  For a whopping $95, I scored this chest from an estate sale, via my mother, who went and bought it in my absence.

My Draper Dresser ready to come home to me!

Here are my inspirations:  (I'm not sure where we're going to use it, but I hope to keep it in it's original condition.  These babies are selling for $4,000 online!

I love this.  I love the headboard, the bedding, the dresser, the tulip lamp... everything.

I love estate sales.  They make me happy ;)

Happy Birthday Phenny

Opening presents after our dinner... I made pulled pork.  Yum ;)

I had gone and stolen baby pictures from his parents house.  This was of Stephen when they lived in Woodward, OK.  It's really windy there.  This was his favorite horse.  Such a cowboy ;)

Realizing he was 30, with the first of his 30 year old birthday themed cards.  Thanks mom!

I gave him three of the books he's collecting... we love adding to our library.  We're so much fun.

His favorite.  Strawn's Strawberry Pie.  SOOOO amazing!  And even better with candles!

His banner I made him for the mantle.  Thank you Martha.  I downloaded your template and it worked!

Oh my, it's almost gone... will we make it?  (at this point, his entire family was there... Parents, siblings, two aunts, grandmother, Mr. Terry, and a cousin.  So much fun!)

I also made lemon cream puffs.  I would take credit for the cream puffs but I bought them and then filled them with lemon curd.  So good!

Exactly enough pie for the crowd!!!

The inside of the lemon cream puff...

Paula and Ryne

Such a good picture ;)

Touch noses!  (like our engagement session.  This is what she had us do a lot during our picture taking.
I think it's so funny)

Jen and Kat.  They're so funny ;)

Success!  A fun birthday party!  Lots of happy plates!
