Creative Christmas Treats...

I'm having a hard time figuring out what to take and make for our upcoming Christmas parties and get togethers.  I want to be creative and fun... is that too much to ask?

Here are some ideas I found on that Pinterest place ;)  Still not quite a regular user.  I'm a google-search-images user for now.  I'm so 2009.
Who wouldn't want a brownie topped with a strawberry that looks like a santa hat?  Looks pretty easy too.

This one is for my sister who loves to dip anything she can find in chocolate and loves marshmallows.

And another thing dipped in chocolate for you dear sister...

I won't be trying this, but HOW CUTE?  Total waste of time if you ask me, but ADORABLE.  I would just sit and stare at it.

Now, I know this is not related to Christmas treats... but when I was researching for fun ideas, this cookbook idea popped up.  How much fun would this be to give to a family member, or better yet, make for yourself?  I see nothing wrong with that.

How much fun would it be to gather recipes from all your girlfriends and make it into a cookbook?  Possibilities are endless on this one.

Are you running to start gathering your recipes now?  I'm dying to make one of these.

I think if I made one, I would take pictures of my original recipe cards that my mother has written out for me.  I will always cherish those.  I love the stained, ripped, slightly dirty recipe cards.  You know those are the good ones.

Are you making homemade gifts for neighbors, coworkers?  What are you making?  I'd love some fun ideas and I'd love to share them on my blog.

Send me your recipe and a picture of what you're making and I'll share them on my blog.  Great recipes are meant to be shared and enjoyed by all ;)  sarahtoshreveport@gmail.com

I really love the santa hat brownies and santa hat pretzels. Perhaps I will make those next week for our Christmas party. Along with my fave . . . though not holiday . . . jalapeño popper dip!

Get active on Pinterest! You will find more fun things in a click of a button than you'll have time for. Find friends to follow. I tried my first project yesterday that involved printing on tissue paper then modge podging onto canvas! I have a long list of homemade goodies I want to create for various coworkers and teachers!

I'd like to tell you about my homemade gifts, but I don't want to give away the surprise to the recipients. :)
