Last day

I hate saying goodbye.  I hate leaving a place you've frequented for over a year, day after day.  I hate leaving sweet friendships that have brought me so much joy over the last year.  But all I can say is that I love that on this adventure of life, we are able to build friendships, create bonds with one another and forever have that connection.  I will truly miss the team I've worked with here at BOK.  It is a wonderful place to work and I've made some very sweet friendships here.

I'll be updating this blog for them.  And for my mother.  And best friends.  Who want to know what I'm up to.  At every moment of every day ;)  My new adventure starts tomorrow!  I'll take pictures of what my car ends up looking like.  You might see sparks down highway 75 as my car will be dragging with all the stuff I have decided I can't live without.  It's really ridiculous.

I'll write you from Shreveport!

Things I love

I really enjoy perusing through blogs and saving pictures as inspiration. I love finding something that gives me hope for our new house.

I've found a few things lately that I thought I'd share. Here goes:
I wish I knew where this picture was from, but I don't remember. Stephen has been looking for a vintage drink cart to put in the dining room. I love this one. It's simple, dainty and looks darling holding books and some milk glass. I'm always looking for ways to display my ever growing collection of milk glass!

I love this photo because it has the same chairs we bought for the dining room! I love the curved back and the simple structure. I also love the gray color on the walls. It's so calming with the white breezy curtains.

I.have.this.dresser! Thank you craigslist! Now, mine is a little different. First of all, it's a weird white with a laminate top (how do I begin to repaint that??). I can't wait to refinish mine and get it ready for the guest room. It's going to take lots of time, but I can't wait! PS- I also found the exact same mirror you see in the above picture, on craigslist, for $20! I love it.

That's all I have for today. I will be documenting my move and packing and what I will be placing on craigslist too! I have some fun things that I just don't have a need for anymore, so hopefully they will find a good home!

2 days to Shreveport

The countdown begins! I am only 2 days away from Shreveport. 2 days until I can be within 15 minutes of my Stephen rather than 5.5 hours by car. 2 days until I pack my car, with my attempt at narrowing down my closet, shoes and craft obsession.  This should be interesting!

As you may or may not know, I've taken a job in Shreveport with LSU-Shreveport Health Sciences Foundation.  I will be doing Development for them.  I am really thrilled for this opportunity and to work for such a great foundation in Shreveport.

I will be living with Mary-Katherine (Stephen's sister), who we call Kat.  She's so sweet and I can't wait to spend more time with her.  When she's studying and I'm off work, I'll be helping renovate and decorate at Stephen's.  I can't wait to work in the yard, strip wallpaper, paint and knock down walls!  I will be channeling Sarah from Sarah's House (favorite TV show on HGTV).

Tomorrow my parents are going to take me to dinner to celebrate my move. I'm sad to go, but I know this is such a fun chapter in my life and I am excited for them to be a part of it too. I can't wait to show them Shreveport and the life I'm going to live there. I can't wait to write the story of this new chapter and be able to share some of the fun things we're going to do in Shreveport!

I'll try to keep this as updated as possible. I know I'll be far from family and friends, but I hope you all know that you have a place to stay in Shreveport! You can come down and have some crawfish. But don't plan on me fixing it. Or eating it. Not at first at least! I'm still an Oklahoman for crying out loud. I'll work up to being Southern. I have a ways to go I think ;)
